If you’re a fan of the series American Dad, you may want to check out the new game based on the series. It’s officially called American Dad, Apocalypse Soon!.
Today is the day of the game’s global launch, with availability on both Google Play and the App Store. It’s also worth noting that it may have launched in some regions in early access prior to today.
Over on the Google Play Store, the game’s listing has more than a few comments that appear from as far back as October 3. So this suggests that some users have already been able to play it.
This is a “multi-layered” American Dad RPG
According to MY.GAMES, the company behind American Dad, Apocalypse Soon!, this is a multi-layered RPG. The game is also listed as an RPG in the Play Store.
Don’t think of this like your typical RPG though. Not in the same way you might think of titles like Final Fantasy or even Western-style RPGs like the Elder Scrolls series. While the game has a “multi-layered RPG system,” it looks a lot more like Fallout Shelter.
It may very well play that way too, judging from the screenshots and the launch trailer. In the game, the player will have the opportunity to outfit the Smith house with plenty of defenses and weaponry. Which you’ll need to fight back the alien invasion.
The game also offers “tons of customizable options.” So players should expect a wide selection of stuff to put all over the home.
Players will get a PvE and PvP mode
This is an RPG, so naturally there’s a PvE campaign mode for players to dive into. There’s also a PvP mode in the form of an arena where players can face off against other players.
In the PvP mode, you can basically battle it out with other players globally to see whose house has been turned into the strongest shelter.
While you can customize various parts of the home, you can also upgrade a lot of it. This will be key to ensuring dominance over your opponents. As the one with the strongest household defenses is probably going to win.
American Dad, Apocalypse Soon! is a free game to download. This means you won’t have to pay for the game to install it or play it. It does however have ads and in-game micro transactions. These are optional, but they are there, which is always worth keeping in mind.
