Android 10 Coming To The OnePlus 7 Pro 5G In Q1 2020

The OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro handsets had received Android 10 a while back. OnePlus actually started pushing out a stable version of Android 10 to both devices before it announced the OnePlus 7T series. The same did not happen with the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, though, as that device is still waiting for the Android 10 update.

OnePlus 7 Pro 5G users will have to wait until next year to get Android 10

Well, the company has just confirmed that the update is on the way, but not as soon as you’d expect. The company’s Global Community Manager, David Y., confirmed via OnePlus Forums that the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G will get Android 10 in Q1 2020.

This means that the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G users will have to wait until next year to get the update. That did not really sit well with some users on the forum, as expected.

Getting Android 10 on the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G should not be that difficult. The update is already available for the regular OnePlus 7 Pro variant, and it is really stable. The only difference between the two models is in network connectivity.

Truth be said, there’s the carrier effect to consider here. One specific model was mentioned in OnePlus Forums, OnePlus 7 Pro 5G EE. That update has to go through EE’s certification process, so that may be the reason why users are forced to wait. We’re only guessing, though.

Considering OnePlus hasn’t been more specific, we don’t exactly know when the update will arrive. Q1 means that it could arrive in January, February, or March, your guess is as good as ours.

Android 10 ships with OxygenOS 10 when it comes to OnePlus’ smartphones. The same will happen with the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G.

Android 10 & OxygenOS 10 brought quite a few new features to OnePlus’ phones

Android 10 and OxygenOS 10 brought quite a few new features to the company’s smartphones. Some design-related changes have been made, along with many changes behind the scenes, and some actual features.

Once this update arrives to the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, users will get the Game Space app. That app will basically be home to all your games, so that you can access them easily.

The settings menu has been redesigned, and it’s even more intuitive now. Google’s new gesture navigation system is a part of this update, with some of OnePlus’ added tweaks. OnePlus’ gesture navigation system is also included, by the way.

This update brings some extra customization options that users greatly appreciate, while a system-wide dark mode now includes the notification shade as well.

These are only some of the changes. You can check out our original post regarding this update for the OnePlus 7 series if you’d like to know more.
