AT&T Announces New Unlimited Plans With More Data

AT&T is shuffling up its unlimited plans once again. Starting this Sunday, November 3, its existing AT&T Unlimited &More and Unlimited &More Premium plans will be replaced by two new unlimited plans, namely Unlimited Starter and Unlimited Extra. A third Unlimited Elite plan will also be arriving in the coming weeks. The company announced the launch of the new plans on Wednesday.

AT&T’s new unlimited plans

To begin with, AT&T’s new Unlimited Starter plan lowers the starting monthly price for your family of four to $35 per line, per month. The plan costs $65 per month for a single line. AT&T’s current cheapest plan, AT&T Unlimited & More, costs $70 for a single line and $40 per line for a family of four.

The AT&T Unlimited Starter plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data in the U.S. as well as Canada and Mexico. However, with this plan, data prioritization is always on. So your internet speed could be slowed whenever AT&T decides the network is congested. There’s no guaranteed GBs before data deprioritizing starts. You’re also limited to SD-quality video.

The Unlimited Starter plan doesn’t offer you any mobile hotspot data either. For those whom mobile hotspot data is a necessity, AT&T has the Unlimited Extra plan which costs $75 for a single line and $40 per line for a family of four for one month of services. In addition to unlimited talk, text, and data in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, you also get 15GB of mobile hotspot data per line, as well as 50GB of guaranteed high-speed internet. Video streaming is still limited to SD-quality, though.

Unlimited Elite is AT&T’s priciest plan at $85 per month for a single line, or $50 per month on a family plan of four. Perks include the obvious unlimited talk, text, and data, as well as 30GB of mobile hotspot data per line. You also get 100GB of high-speed internet before data deprioritizing starts during network congestion. You also get HD video streaming and a free subscription to HBO with this plan. It will be upgraded to HBO Max when it launches in May 2020. This service usually costs $14.99 per month.

None of AT&T’s new unlimited plans will bundle Watch TV, the company’s live TV service. The service will still be available as a stand-alone offering, though.

Up to $700 trade-in discount

To celebrate the launch of its new plans, AT&T has announced its highest ever trade-in offer. Customers who purchase a new phone that’s at least $700 using installment payments, switch to AT&T, and trade in a qualifying device can get up to $700 in credits over 30 months. The offer is available for a limited time and on select devices only.
