While the Galaxy S10 is slated to start getting its Android 10 Beta today, it looks like the Galaxy Note 10 will be getting it a bit later on.
According to Sammobile, the Galaxy Note 10 is due to get its beta of Android 10 on October 21.
That beta will also come with a new version of One UI.
This date falls in-line with last year’s beta
Samsung did its first beta last year, for Android 9 Pie with One UI, and it landed on the Galaxy S9 first. Followed by the Galaxy Note 9 a couple of weeks later.
So if the Galaxy S10 is going to be getting its Android 10 and One UI 2 beta today, then about two weeks later for the Galaxy Note 10 seems to be pretty accurate.
As Sammobile stated in its article, it’s usually not a good idea to take the word of a customer service rep. Seeing as they are usually out of the loop on things like this. But with this one, the representative was spot on with the release of the Galaxy S10 beta today, so it definitely looks like they know what they are talking about.
There will be several betas
Now, yes, it’s exciting that Samsung is pushing out betas of Android 10 and One UI 2 to the Galaxy S10 and soon the Galaxy Note 10. But that doesn’t mean that Android 10 is ready just yet.
If it goes anything like last year, Samsung will likely put out a few betas before it starts rolling out the update to everyone.
It’ll be on a much faster pace than Google’s beta rollout though. Like two or three betas within two months or so. This way Samsung is able to get the updates ready to go sooner. It’ll be faster than Google, because the code isn’t changing.
Google does tend to change the code and bring in new features with each update, hence the slower and longer beta phase for new versions of Android.
Also, don’t expect the beta to be available on carrier models of the Galaxy S10 or Galaxy Note 10. This is usually saved for the unlocked version. And Samsung might be able to get it on the T-Mobile variants, like it did last year, but don’t get your hopes up.
Samsung has not officially announced when these betas will start though. But if the Galaxy S10 does get it today, you can expect an announcement fairly soon.
