Stadia launches November 19 which is just over a month away. This marks the exact date of a couple of things.
One, this is when the service will go live, meaning players can access it. Two, this is when the Founder’s Edition bundles will receive their orders.
In regards to the service going live, it’s important to remember that only Pro subscribers who purchased the Founder’s or Premier bundles will be able to play Stadia games from this date.
Stadia launches soon, but you still need to be a Founder or Premier owner
You will still need to be a Stadia Founder or Premier owner if you want to access the service. This is the case for the forseeable future. Because Google hasn’t announced yet when non-Founder Pro subscribers can join in on the fun.
It also hasn’t mentioned an exact date for the Stadia Base tier of the service. It has however noted many times that Stadia Base will be coming sometime in 2020.
For those who will have access right away, you’ll get Destiny 2: The Collection for free. You will also be able to buy any other game you want and play it right away too.
If you plan to play on your phone, you will need the Pixel 4 or Pixel 4 XL. Otherwise, you’ll be able to play on a TV with Chromecast Ultra, as well as on laptops and desktops.
Many games are going to be available at launch
Most of the games that Google has announced for Stadia so far will be available at launch. This includes titles like Destiny 2: The Collection, Mortal Kombat 11, GYLT, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, DOOM, and more.
Games like DOOM Eternal were supposed to be a launch title as well, but Bethesda officially noted that the game’s launch as a whole was being delayed until 2020.
That being said this is one game title out of the handful that Google announced which are being pushed back. Gamers will still have a pretty big selection of games to play once the service is up and running next month.
If you have yet to pick up a Founder’s Edition bundle the package is still available in the US for $129. This means you can get the Founder’s bundle perks, such as the limited edition Midnight Blue controller.
You also get the ability to choose your gamertag before anyone else. If these bundles end up being sold out before the launch on November 19, the Premier bundle will take its place.
