Android 10 Beta is now available for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+. Do note that the update is not available in all regions, though.
Android 10 Beta for the Galaxy S9 series is live in India and South Korea
The beta program for the two devices is now live in India, and Samsung’s homeland, South Korea. It’s quite interesting that India is first in line for the beta program activation, as that is not usually the case when it comes to Samsung.
In any case, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ Android 10 Beta availability follows the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series of devices, which received it a couple of weeks ago.
The Galaxy Note 9 is also getting this update
It is worth noting that users in India can also join the Galaxy Note 9 Android 10 Beta test, as they are getting invitations to join, and help Samsung bring the stable update to the market as soon as possible.
If you’re from India or South Korea, and you own the Galaxy S9 or S9+, you can join the beta program. All you need to do is head to the Samsung Member app, and register, if you haven’t already.
The firmware version ‘G960FXXU7ZSKD’ is rolling out to the Galaxy S9. In the case of the Galaxy S9+, you’ll get the firmware version ‘G965FXXU7ZSKD’. Both iterations weigh around 1,8GB.
Android 10 Beta is available for unlocked units only. Keep that in mind if you have a carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+
In the case of the Galaxy Note 9, a firmware version ‘N960FXXU4ZSK7’ is rolling out in those two countries as well. That version weighs 1,9GB, so keep that in mind before downloading.
Android 10 stable will start rolling out to the Galaxy S10 in January
The company has also mentioned that the Android 10 Beta test for the Galaxy S10 is coming to an end. The company said that it will start pushing out a stable version of Android 10 for the Galaxy S10 series in January.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ have both launched last year, the same goes for the Galaxy Note 9. The Galaxy S9 are over a year and a half old at this point. It’s nice to see that Samsung is taking updates seriously now.
The company is still not the fastest out there to provide updates for a new version of Android. It’s not the slowest either, though. It’s time to see that it is working on updates for its older flagships as well, even though it will take longer for them to get stable versions.
The Galaxy S10 and S10+ will be the first to get the stable version of Android 10. The Note 10 series will follow soon after, or get it at the same time as the Galaxy S10 series. The Galaxy S9 and Note 9 series devices are next in line, and so on.
