AH Awards: Best Value Smartphone Of 2019 – OnePlus 7T

The OnePlus 7T is hands-down the best value smartphone of 2019. It has a lot of positives, plus a great price tag. This handset can compete with pretty much every device on the market at the moment.

Smartphone price tags are constantly rising. Flagship smartphones from the most popular brands are now crossing $1,000 thresholds, and then some. Well, that’s not the case with OnePlus. The company did increase price tags of its smartphones over the years, that’s true, but the company’s flagship offerings are still not unbelievably expensive. Quite the contrary, in fact.

OnePlus essentially released four flagship smartphones in 2019, the OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T, and 7T Pro. The 7 Pro and 7T Pro are essentially lauded as flagship phones, and the OnePlus 7 and 7T as more affordable alternatives to those two phones. Well, the difference between the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro is quite minimal. In fact, many people in the industry will easily say that they actually prefer the 7T over the 7T Pro.

The OnePlus 7T is not only a bit smaller than the 7T Pro, but it also offers a flat display. It may include a tiny notch on the display, but it does not sport a display notch or hole. There are a lot of positives when it comes to this device, and selecting it as the best value smartphone of this year was a no brainer. This phone costs $599, and it holds its own against every flagship phone on the market.

The OnePlus 7T probably has the best fullHD+ panel in the market

The OnePlus 7T has “only” a fullHD+ Fluid AMOLED display, but it looks great, it truly does. This has to be one of the best fullHD+ panels on the market, if not the best one. OnePlus reduced blue light emission on this phone by 40-percent compared to its predecessor, and that is quite noticeable when you use it. In fact, according to some technical tests, this display beast the Note 10+’s panel in every category except sharpness (due to a higher resolution). That is a huge positive. The device also comes with a flat display, which is still a major positive for a lot of people.

This handset is also one of the fastest phones on the market at the moment. Its 90Hz display, in collaboration with the Snapdragon 855+, plenty of RAM, and OnePlus’ extremely-optimized OxygenOS make for a great experience. The device flies through everything, be it regular app-switching, opening apps, browsing, or gaming… it doesn’t matter. It is, without a doubt, one of the most reliable smartphones in the market.

This phone has really good battery life

Battery life on the OnePlus 7T is… well, really good. It’s not on the same level as the Huawei P30 Pro or the Mate 30 Pro, but it is on the same level or better than almost every other flagship out there. OnePlus’ extremely fast 30W charging is also great, even though the device does not offer wireless charging.

OnePlus also improved the camera experience on this device compared to its predecessors. It improved it quite a bit, as the OnePlus 7T is quite a reliable phone in that category as well, in all conditions. It’s not the best camera smartphone around, but it’s definitely not a slouch either. Build quality is also on point. The OnePlus 7T feels really good in the hand, and as long as you’re not prone to dropping naked devices, you should be fine.

These are only some positives when it comes to the OnePlus 7T, but this is more than enough to make you realize why we picked this phone as the best value for 2019. The OnePlus 7T is one of the best smartphones in the market in general. Having its price tag in mind, it’s hands-down the best value smartphone of 2019. There’s really no need to spend over $1,000 on a phone at this point, as you can get a similar, if not better experience at only $599.
