According to a well-known tipster, Samsung will announce its new flagship devices in mid-February. Ice Universe said, on Twitter, that “the Galaxy S11 series and clamshell foldable phones” will be announced on February 18 in San Francisco.
We don’t really know why the source wrote “foldable phones” instead of “foldable phones”, as Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Fold 2, as in a single phone. Perhaps the tipster is suggesting that we’ll see more than one foldable, or it’s a mistake in the tweet.
In any case, Samsung seems to be bringing its new flagship offerings in mid-February. Ice Universe is usually quite accurate when it comes to such leaks, so it’s possible that this information is spot on.
Samsung is expected to announce all of those devices in February, but we did not know the exact date until now. People presumed that they will be announced prior to MWC 2020, and it seems like that presumption was spot on.

Samsung will probably be launching three Galaxy S11 phones on February 18, in addition to the Galaxy Fold 2. The Galaxy S11, S11e, and S11+ will probably arrive. It is quite probable that some of these devices, if not all of them, will arrive in 5G iterations.
The Galaxy S11 trio has been leaking for a while now. All three devices have surfaced in CAD-based renders, and we know what to expect out of them, more or less.
These devices will be made out of metal and glass, and feature curved displays. All three will include a display camera hole on the front, and feature really thin bezels.
The Galaxy Fold 2, on the other hand, is more of a mystery. We do know that it will be a vertically-folding smartphone, unlike the original Galaxy Fold. Samsung did tease this phone during its developer’s conference quite recently.
The device is expected to be more durable than the Galaxy Fold. People are expecting a significant improvement in terms of build quality with this phone, and a considerably cheaper price tag.
The Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to be a lot more affordable than its predecessor
Rumors have been suggesting that the Galaxy Fold 2 will be a lot more affordable than its predecessor. One specific rumor suggested that the phone will cost $850, which would be a huge improvement.
Take that rumor with a grain of salt, of course. The original Galaxy Fold costs almost $2,000, so such a huge price drop would surprise everyone. We’re hoping that the rumor is true, though.
The Galaxy Fold 2 will be more affordable, though, for sure, we’re just not sure how much. Samsung is expecting to sell far more foldables in 2020, and in order to do that, it will need to cut prices drastically.
