Google Names Its Stadia Pro Games For January

Google has now announced its Stadia Pro games for the month of January, which includes one AAA title and one smaller one.

The two games will be Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, and Thumper. For those that are fans of the Tomb Raider series, this will be another step towards completing the trilogy of games in the series reboot.

As the current December game lineup includes Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition as one of its free titles. Keeping that in mind, TR:DE disappears as a free title for Pro members after December is over.

More specifically, Pro members need to claim the game by December 31 or they will have to purchase it.

Stadia Pro games for January will be available on the 1st

As per usual it seems, Google will be making this coming month’s free games available on the first day of the month. Meaning Pro members who don’t already own the game will be able to dive in right away.

With the December games, the titles were made available at 9AM PST. So, the same should be happening with the new titles for January.

In the same way, TR:DE will be taken off the Pro free list at 9AM the day before. So if you plan to claim it you’ll want to do so before that designated time that Google has laid out.

Farming Simulator 19 will remain a free game

Although TR:DE is disappearing as a free game in January, Farming Simulator 19 will stay. Google confirms that it will remain a free title for Pro members alongside Destiny 2: The Collection and Samurai Shodown.

That being said, any free titles which haven’t been claimed yet might as well be claimed immediately. Especially if you’re planning on keeping your Pro subscription alive beyond the free 90 days.

In addition to announcing new free titles for Pro members, Stadia also ended up with new discounted games this week. Rage 2 for example was knocked down in price to $19.80 from $59.99 just a couple of days ago.

And Red Dead Redemption 2 was discounted as well. Though it didn’t receive as big of a discount as the price for the standard edition dropped from $59.99 to $47.99.

Still, any discount is a good discount if you’re saving more than a couple of bucks. And that’s what Pro members are getting here. That being said, it’s also worth keeping in mind that the discounts won’t last forever. They, like the free titles, are only available for a limited time.
