Redmi had introduced its K30 mid-ranger yesterday, in both 4G and 5G variants. The Redmi K30 Pro, on the other hand, was not mentioned at all.
There is a good reason for that. The Redmi K30 Pro is expected to ship with the Snapdragon 865 SoC. It is too early for Redmi to announce that phone, as the Snapdragon 865 is still not available to companies, it got announced quite recently.
Not many people expected the Redmi K30 Pro to arrive yesterday, as that would mean it would be equipped with the Snapdragon 855+. Redmi clearly wants to avoid that, and include the Snapdragon 865.
The Redmi K30 Pro may arrive in March in both 4G & 5G variants
That being said, a new rumor has just appeared. This rumor claims that the Redmi K30 Pro will arrive in March next year. If that ends up being true, that’s quite a gap between the two phones.
This information comes from Twitter, from ‘Sudhanshu Ambhore’. He also mentioned that the phone will be equipped with the Snapdragon 865, and the Snapdragon X55 5G modem. Do note that this information surfaced prior to Redmi’s launch event which took place yesterday.
The Redmi K30 Pro will probably follow the Xiaomi Mi 10. The Xiaomi Mi 10 is expected to arrive in February or March. In any case, it’s expected to launch before the Redmi K30 Pro.
Redmi, as most of you know, is Xiaomi’s sub-brand, kind of. Redmi became a separate identity a while back, but it’s still owned by Xiaomi. Xiaomi will almost certainly want to show off its Mi 10 flagship before the Redmi K30 Pro.
The Redmi K30 and K30 Pro will probably be released to global markets under different names. The K30 may arrive as the Mi 10T, while the K30 Pro is expected to launch as the Mi 10T Pro.
The Redmi K30 is a mid-range phone, but it has a lot to offer. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 765 (4G variant) / 765G (5G variant) SoC, and it has plenty of RAM and storage.
The device may include six cameras overall
The phone also includes a large display, and four cameras on the back. There are two cameras included on the front of this phone, inside a pill-shaped cutout.
The Redmi K30 Pro may adopt this very same design, unless Redmi decides to improve upon it. In addition to the Snapdragon 865, the phone may include an ever more capable set of cameras on the back.
Android 10 is expected to come pre-installed on the Redmi K30 Pro, along with MIUI 11. The phone will also be made out of metal and glass, and probably feature the very same display as the Redmi K30.
