Solitaire Time Warp Is An Action-Packed Arcade Take On Solitaire

Solitaire could well be the most popular game of all time, both in real life and in the pixelated universe of video games.

Thanks to the inclusion of Solitaire on every copy of Microsoft Windows since the 90s, billions upon billions of games have been played on PC alone, with hundreds more available on the mobile app stores.

And, of course, humans have been playing Solitaire out in the wild for centuries. Apparently Napoleon was a fan.

Solitaire Time Warp is the latest videogaming take on Solitaire, and it looks like a fun, action-packed twist on the formula.

All the main Solitaire variants are included – that’s Classic, Klondike, Golf, Spider, Pyramid, and others – but there’s a lot more to the game than its modes.

There are quests, treasure hunts, bonus games, challenges, and multiplayer tournaments, for a start, meaning there’s plenty in there to keep you busy and motivated. And the gameplay itself has been powered up with various new elements.

They include obstacles such as locks, card eaters, and bombs, to pep up the traditionally leisurely pursuit of card sorting. And there are special cards, too, including wilds and plus fives, adding another layer of fun.

You’ll earn streak bonuses for completing multiple decks, earning stars, coins, and free plays. Solitaire Time Warp is packed with things to do beyond the basic gameplay of Solitaire.

The setting looks great, too. Solitaire Time Warp transports you through time and space, right the way back to Ancient Egypt (where you’ll play Pyramid, of course) and underwater to the city of Atlantis. Ancient China is on the itinerary, too, and all of the game’s locations look vibrant and atmospheric.

Solitaire can seem like a fairly stuffy game, but Solitaire Time Warp is the antidote to run-of-the-mill card-sorting.

You can download it for free on Google Play and the App Store.
