Hisense just announced a ton of new TV series at CES 2020, and half of them are running Roku. That’s a big difference from a year ago, when the majority of its TVs ran Android TV or its own proprietary system.
The company is truly embracing Roku TV, and it’s not hard to see why. Roku is the number one streaming platform in the world, for a reason.
The Affordable Roku TVs
First up, we’re going to talk about the “affordable” Roku TVs from Hisense. And that’s the H4G series. Hisense says that these are “ideal for cord cutters and streamers”. These are the cheapest TVs the company is announcing in 2020, starting at just $115. With that comes the expectation that these are not 4K, and they are not. Instead, these are 2K – better than full HD, at least.
These sport both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. As well as Google Cast, allowing you to Cast your favorite content to the big screen.
No specific release date for the H4G Hisense Roku TVs were given at CES, other than launching this year. It will come in three sizes: 32-inch for $115, 40-inch for $179 and 43-inch for $196.
The 4K Roku TVs
The R6E3 series are 4K Roku TVs from Hisense, and these sport over 8 million pixels. That’s going to give you a much clearer picture. It will of course, upscale 1080p and 720p content to this 4K resolution when needed. There is DTS Studio Sound included here, which is going to provide full, detailed sound from the TVs speakers.
Much like the H4G series, there is support for Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Google Cast here.
The R6E3 series will also be available at some point in 2020, and come in four sizes. There’s the 43-inch for $228, 50-inch for $248, 58-inch for $298, 65-inch for $428 and 75-inch for $798.
The First ULED 4K Roku TV
Hisense is also announcing the first ULED 4K Roku TV this year, and that’s the R8F. ULED offers up a much better picture than just regular LCD, which is what the other models here are using.
There is support for the usual HDR standards here like Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG, which is going to give you a really incredible picture. And it will enhance the color, as well as giving it more depth. Hisense has included Motion Rate processing technology, which will allow viewers t watch sports and games without any lag.
It’s not quite on the same level as QLED and OLED TVs from Samsung and LG, but it is pretty close. And considering the prices, it’s not surprising to see it not on that level, yet.
The Hisense R8F is available starting today from Walmart, and it’ll cost you $499 for the 55-inch model and $699 for the 65-inch model.
