Klipsch is refreshing its sound bars for CES 2020, and that includes the Bar 54. Which is its flagship sound bar.
This year, the Klipsch Bar 54 includes all of the tech that you would expect in 2020. This includes support for both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, as well as Apple’s AirPlay 2 and Dolby Atmos.
The Bar 54 joins the growing number of connected sound bars on the market, and one of the first audio giants to really embrace both Google and AMazon.
Klipsch signature sound with Dolby Atmos included
With the Bar 54, you’re going to get Klipsch’s signature sound, which has plenty of bass with the mids and highs sounding pretty crisp. But on top of that you’re going to get Dolby Atmos supported.
Klipsch is well-known for its audio quality and that’s mostly due to the fact that it actually does the speakers in movie theaters and such. So the sound you hear at the theater when you watch a movie, is what you can expect out of the Bar 54.
With Dolby Atmos, you’re going to get a more three-directional sound out of this sound bar, and even better sounding audio. It really is a game changer for those that do watch a lot of movies and TV shows.
It is able to do 7.1.4 with Dolby Atmos if you add on a Surround 3, otherwise the package does 5.1.4 which is still really good.
Basically, you’re getting a sound bar, two satellite speakers and a subwoofer. Providing for some really deep bass here.
Multi-room audio with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant
As you might expect, multi-room audio is still supported on the Klipsch Bar 54 with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
This is all done through the Alexa or Google Home app on your smartphone. But you can connect the Bar 54 with other Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant speakers, including the Nest Mini or the Echo.
With multi-room audio, you’re going to be able play the same audio throughout your home, and it’s a really cool feature. And especially useful for those that have larger homes.
Don’t forget you can still ask Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant questions through your sound bar with the Bar 54 too.
Pricing & Availability
As is the case with a lot of products announced at CES, the Klipsch Bar 54 is not going to be available right away. Klipsch says that it won’t be available until in the fall.
Pricing isn’t going to be cheap, as expected with a flagship sound bar from Klipsch. It’s going to set you back $1499. But that includes the entire system (sound bar, subwoofer and two satellite speakers).
