Microsoft already had a fairly good lineup of games for xCloud, but it’s just made it even better by adding new games to the service today.
One of those new games includes Destiny 2, the popular looter shooter that’s been the poster game for Stadia since the service launched last November.
In addition to Destiny 2, Microsoft also added Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Which also recently launched on PC through Steam. The only downside about this new collection of games is that Microsoft itself has seemingly not yet announced the releases officially.
Which means many people may not be aware of the new games that have been added unless they’ve been using xCloud often enough. There is a way to tell though.
New xCloud games don’t show up on the website
At the time of writing the new games added to xCloud today don’t show up on the web version of the list of 50+ games.
This means you can cross reference that list with the list from inside the xCloud game streaming app. Simply open the app on your phone and scroll through it. At the same time, compare it to the list of games on the xCloud website.
Eventually Microsoft will update the list on the web. For the time being though, you can actually see which ones are new. As opposed to which ones have been there for months. Unfortunately there’s no way to filter games.
So this is your only real way to see what’s new and what’s not. At least until Microsoft puts out an official announcement on what’s been added.
New games include Telltale’s Batman series
In addition to Destiny 2 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, episodes 1-5 of Batman: The Enemy Within, as well as episodes 1-5 of Batman: The Telltale Series have been added.
Other new games include Forza Motorsport 7, Kingdom Two Crowns, Moonlighter, Portal Knights, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, Sparklite, and Superhot just to name a few.
The Surge and The Wolf Among Us have also been added, as has Train Sim World 2020, and Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut. Interestingly enough, Oxenfree is not listed in the app but it is listed on the website.
So it seems Microsoft may have removed this game from xCloud at some point. If you’re already in the xCloud beta, pop over to the app and check out some of these new hits. The service works with more than just the Xbox One controller too.
As we’ve personally tested it with the Razer Junglecat and it works great.
