The Galaxy S20 Ultra Will Be Capable Of 100x Zoom

The Galaxy S20 leaks are coming pretty fast now, and we’re hearing more about the camera specs, specifically that the Ultra model will sport 100x Zoom.

For a smartphone to be capable of 100x zoom is pretty insane. For instance, the Pixel 4 only does up to 8x zoom right now. The Huawei P30 Pro that was announced last year with some crazy periscope zoom lens, is only capable of 50x. And it was pretty insane already, so you can only imagine the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Apparently, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is going to use a periscope lens to get that 100x Zoom, as you might expect. It’s going to be a hybrid zoom, so a mix of optical and software zoom. Meaning that it may not be super clear at 100x, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Galaxy S20 and S20+ camera specs have leaked too

It’s not all about the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The other two Galaxy S20 models have also leaked out.

The Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ will both sport a 12-megapixel main sensor and a 10-megapixel front-facing sensor. Obviously these aren’t all of the camera specs for the Galaxy S20 series. Seeing as the leaks we’ve seen feature at least three cameras, most likely there will be four. That information should come out in the coming weeks though.

However, we do have some other specs for the Galaxy S20 lineup. The Galaxy S20 will also feature a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED display, while the Galaxy S20+ gets a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display. Both are said to be QHD+ resolution with 120Hz refresh rate. Marking Samsung’s move into the high-refresh rate market.

The smaller Galaxy S20 will have a 4000mAh capacity battery. Though the battery capacities for the other two models were not disclosed.

All will be revealed on February 11

Samsung will reveal the Galaxy S20 lineup in San Francisco on February 11 at its Unpacked event.

We’re also expecting to see a new foldable smartphone coming at this event, which is now said to be the Galaxy Z Flip.

With the Galaxy S20 event just a few weeks away, we’re going to be seeing plenty more leaks leading up to the February 11 unveiling. Some might be real, while others might not  be. Either way, it’s going to be fun, leading up to the Galaxy S20 unveiling. This is shaping up to be one of the more interesting Samsung unveilings in quite some time.
