It was recently reported that the Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20+ will arrive in both 4G LTE and 5G variants, and support page listings have just confirmed 4G models. Do note that these listings have been removed since.
Official listings confirm Galaxy S20 and S20+ LTE variants
Both devices briefly appeared on the company’s official Latin America website, reports SamMobile. The Galaxy S20 got listed under the model number SM-G980F. Do note that the model number of its 5G variant is SM-G981F.
The Galaxy S20+ 4G popped up with a model number SM-G985F. The model number of its 5G variants is SM-G986F. This pretty much confirms that both 4G LTE and 5G Galaxy S20 and S20+ variants are coming.
You will notice that we did not mention the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Well, there’s a good reason for it. Based on all the information that we’ve seen thus far, the S20 Ultra will arrive in a 5G variant only.
The Galaxy S20 and S20+ 4G variants will probably be available in markets where 5G rollout hasn’t really started, or is in its complete infancy. Well, truth be said, 5G is still not where it’s supposed to be anywhere in the world, but some markets are a few steps ahead.
That being said, the US and South Korea will almost certainly get 5G variants of the Galaxy S20 and S20+. Those will probably be the standard in those countries, and it would not be surprising if 4G variants never make it there.
Most markets out there will get 4G LTE variants only, most probably
The US and Korea are not the only markets to get 5G variants, of course. Most markets out there will get 4G variants only, though. We’ll know more once the devices get announced.
Speaking of which, the Galaxy S20 series will become official on February 11. The company had already scheduled a press conference in San Francisco.
In addition to those three Galaxy S20 handsets, Samsung is also expected to introduce the Galaxy Z Flip. That phone will become the company’s second foldable smartphone.
It will fold vertically, sport really thin bezels, and be fueled by the Snapdragon 855. That is, at least, what the rumors have been saying. The Galaxy Z Flip is also expected to be considerably more affordable than the Galaxy Fold.
According to the latest rumor, the Galaxy S20 series will become available on March 13. A rumor said that the phones will go on sale in France on March 13, and chances are most other markets will get them at the same time.
All three Galaxy S20 handsets will be made out of metal and glass. All three will feature a display camera hole, and be fueled by the Snapdragon 865 in most markets. The Exynos 990 is said to fuel them in India, though.
