Tile and HP have just announced that they’ve signed a multi-year deal. That deal has been agreed for multiple products in order to “make laptops findable”.
The two companies have made the announcement as part of CES 2020. It has been confirmed that the first Tile-enabled laptop will be the HP Elite Dragonfly. That laptop will be findable even when it’s offline.
That laptop will become available in early 2020, the two companies said. It will feature Tile’s finding technology as an option. You will be able to use Tile’s app in order to look for your lost or misplaced laptops.
You will be able to view the last place it was seen, and activate Tile’s finding network for assistance if it’s no longer in your Bluetooth range.
Tile & HP partnership will enable users to find their misplaced laptops
HP says that it ran a global survey recently. Thanks to that survey, it realized that almost half of its respondents have left their homes without their laptops in the past year. That made them late for work and / or disrupted their day.
Well, this collaboration with Tile is expected to remove such issues. You will be notified when you’re losing Bluetooth range, and if that happens, you’ll be able to find it regardless, as we’ve already mentioned.
72-percent of HP’s respondents said that they would appreciate the ability to locate their lost or misplaced laptops. That is to be expected, though, who wouldn’t want to find such valuable items they’ve lost.
This integration will work using a new Tile Windows app on the HP Elite Dragonfly, HP confirmed. The user’s Tile mobile application will also be a part of the equation, though, of course.
Tile’s partnerships include Bose, Sennheiser, Qualcomm, and more
Back in 2018, Tile partnered up with Bose and Sennheiser. Those were not the only Tile partners that year, as the company did the same with BLE chip makers Nordic, Qualcomm, and Toshiba.
Those partnerships pushed Tile past 20 global partners. The company announced that it will keep adding new partners to the fold. Tile is actually planning to double its current number of partners in 2020.
There you have it. We still do not know when will the HP Elite Dragonfly with Tile capabilities become available, but expect more info on that soon. Based on HP’s statement, early 2020 probably means that it will arrive before the end of Q1 2020. In other words, it should become available before April comes around.
