Blizzard Adds Dragon Minion-Types To Hearthstone Battlegrounds

If you’ve been sinking your teeth into the new Hearthstone Battlegrounds mode since last Fall, you will now have new Dragon minion-types to acquire and toss into your decks.

Today Blizzard has just announced that it’s adding Dragons into the mode, but not just as minions. You’ll be able to choose from new dragon heroes as well as minions in Hearthstone Battlegrounds starting from today.

New heroes include Reno Jackson and Galakrond. As for the minions, you’ll be able to acquire quite a few of them. Such as a Red Whelp, Glyph Guardian, and Bronze Warden just to name a few.

There are 13 dragon minion-types in Hearthstone Battlegrounds

The new update patch being introduced today will add 18 minions in total. 13 of those new minions will be the dragon type. This includes the three that are mentioned above.

In addition to those three, you can also acquire the Dragonspawn Lieutenant, the Steward of Time, the Hangry Dragon, the Drakonid Enforcer, the Herald of Flame, the Cobalt Scalebane, Murozond, the Twilight Emissary, Razorgore The Untamed, and Kalegos the Arcane Aspect.

Other minions will include Nadina The Red, the Imp Mama, Holy Mackerel, Unstable Ghoul, and Waxrider Togwaggle.

Get exclusive Twitch drops as part of this update

Everyone loves a little bit of loot. And it just so happens that you’re getting some free loot as part of this update.

Blizzard has partnered up with Twitch to give out drops to players to celebrate the update patch, and you can claim the first drop right now. Since it went live at 11AM Pacific Standard Time this morning.

That being said there is something that you’re required to do if you want the drops. You won’t just get them by logging into the game.

To acquire your drop, you’ll need to watch three hours of Hearthstone livestreams on Twtich. This can be consecutive or non-consecutive, and it can be any stream. It doesn’t even have to be the same stream the whole time.

If you do that, you’ll get a Descent of Dragons card pack for Hearthstone for free. You’ll also get another card pack if you watch a total of six hours. This can also be consecutive or non-consecutive.

Worth mentioning is that the Twitch drops will continue until February 29 at 5PM Pacific Standard Time. So you only have a few days to log your hours. You also need to ensure that your Battle.net account is linked with your Twitch account. If it’s not you won’t get any progress for watching the streams.
