Bandai Namco is on the way with a new One Piece mobile game called One Piece Bon! Bon! Journey!!, a match-3 puzzle game due out in 2020.
The game will primarily feature gameplay like any other match-3 game on the platform, but with a One Piece theme. Where it differs is addition of other gameplay mechanics. Meaning you won’t just be solving match-3 puzzles.
This should give the game some variety and keep players interested as they’ll have other stuff to do.
The upcoming One Piece puzzle game has no firm release date
Bandai Namco says the game is scheduled for a release sometime in 2020. It has not however mentioned an exact release date.
And there’s a lot of the year left which suggests it could be later in the year before players are able to check it out. The game is not yet up for pre-registration according to the official website.
It will however be opening up sometime in the near future. For players who are interested in direct information regarding the game, there is an official page for it live on Facebook. It’s also highly likely that any important details such as pre-registration opportunities and launch date will be listed there.
Players can decorate their own islands
While match-3 puzzles are certain the main segment of One Piece Bon! Bon! Journey!!, that’s not all players can do.
The game will feature the ability to create and decorate your own islands. You can decorate them with treasures you find on your journey, so it sounds like you’ll be able to acquire treasures by completing levels.
You may even acquire new characters this way and then have them hang out with you on the island. In addition to this particular game element One Piece Bon! Bon! Journey!! will have scenes from the show that you can watch.
These won’t feature anime visuals, and instead will be shown in the same graphical visuals of the game. These appear to be unlockable things too. Which means you’ll need to play more of the game to collect more scenes to watch.
As players progress they can level up their characters and unleash powerful skills on their opponents. And if you’re a fan of the anime and/or the manga then this will probably be one of the more exciting features.
One Piece Bon! Bon! Journey should be a free game when it launches later on in 2020.
