Redmi K30 Pro To Include Snapdragon 865, But No 108MP Camera

The Redmi K30 Pro may not include a 108MP camera. This information comes from XDA Developers, and was discovered by ‘kacskrz’ in the MIUI Gallery App.

Now, both ‘umi’ and ‘cmi’ handsets are said to be sporting 108-megapixel camera sensors. Those two devices are the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, it seems. The Redmi K30 Pro is probably codenamed ‘Imi’.

The Redmi K30 Pro will probably include a 64MP camera, not a 108MP one

The thing is, ‘Imi’ is mentioned amongst devices which include 64-megapixel cameras. This is somewhat surprising as many people assumed that the Redmi K30 Pro will include the same main sensor as the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro.

It makes sense, however. The Redmi K30 Pro will be more affordable than Xiaomi’s flagships, so it makes sense it doesn’t have the same hardware. The Redmi K30 Pro may not include a 108MP camera, but its 64MP unit will probably be quite capable.

The device will probably ship with either a 64-megapixel ISOCELL or Sony sensor (IMX686). The Redmi K30 Pro will essentially become a more powerful variant of the Redmi K30 which was announced in December.

Those two devices were expected to become official at the same time, but that didn’t happen. Redmi is expected to introduce the ‘Pro’ model in the near future, though.

The Redmi K30 Pro will be fueled by the Snapdragon 865, claims the source. The ‘Imi’ handset is tied to that processor, which more or less confirms that it will sport it.

It also kind of confirms this is the Redmi K30 Pro, as Redmi is probably working on a single Snapdragon 865 smartphone at the moment.

The ‘Pro’ model may look completely identical to the Redmi K30

The Redmi K30 Pro may look the same as the Redmi K30. The Redmi K20 looked completely identical to the ‘Pro’ model, so… Redmi may be looking to do the same this time around.

If that ends up being the case, the phone will have a pill-shaped display hole for two cameras. It will include a rather interesting camera module on the back, and be made out of metal and glass.

The Redmi K30 Pro will probably feature a fullHD+ display, an OLED panel. We’re also expecting that display to offer high refresh rate.

Android 10 will come pre-installed on the phone, along with Xiaomi’s MIUI skin. The device will include plenty of RAM and storage, while fast charging will be included as well. It remains to be seen if the phone will include wireless charging, though. The regular Redmi K30 does not.
