Xiaomi Mi 10 & Mi 10 Pro Are Official With LPDDR5 RAM & 108MP Cameras

Xiaomi has just announced its new flagships smartphones, the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. These two handsets got announced during the company’s press event in China.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are exactly what we expected. The two phones have been leaking for weeks now, and it seems like many of those leaks were spot on.

These two smartphones are quite powerful, and they actually look quite similar. They are somewhat different on the inside, though, as the ‘Pro’ model is slightly more powerful.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 & Mi 10 Pro look almost identical

Let’s start with their design, shall we. The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are both made out of metal and glass. The only difference in terms of their looks can be seen on the back, in the camera module. The two phones have somewhat different rear camera setups.

Both phones feature curved displays, and both of those displays come with a hole in the top-left corner. Bezels on these two phones are extremely thin, almost non-existent.

All the physical buttons are placed on the right, the volume up, volume down, and power / lock keys. Xiaomi’s branding is placed on the back, along with a set of vertically-aligned cameras. Those cameras do protrude on the back, and below them sits an LED flash.

Snapdragon 865, LPDDR5 RAM & 90Hz display

These two phones do have a lot of similarities in the spec department as well. Both devices are fueled by the same processor, the Snapdragon 865. That is the most powerful SoC that Qualcomm has to offer at this point.

Xiaomi also opted to include the best RAM and flash storage currently available. You’ll find LPDDR5 RAM in both devices, and the same goes for UFS 3.0 flash storage.

Speaking of which, the Xiaomi 10 comes with 8GB / 12GB of RAM, both of those variants offer 256GB of storage. On the flip side, the ‘Pro’ model includes 8GB / 12GB of RAM variants, and those two models come with 256GB and 512GB of storage, respectively.

Both phones have the same display. You’ll find a 6.67-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) AMOLED panel on both phones. That is a high refresh rate display, by the way. It comes with 90Hz refresh rate, and 180Hz touch sensitivity.

The Mi 10 Pro supports 30W wireless charging

The Xiaomi Mi 10 comes with a 4,780mAh battery, and 30W fast wired charging. The Mi 10 Pro, on the other hand, sports a 4,500mAh battery, and 50W wired charging. 10W wireless charging is supported by the Mi 10, while the Mi 10 Pro offers support for 30W wireless charging. Both devices also offer 10W reverse wireless charging.

You will find four cameras on both phones, though those cameras are not identical. Both devices include a 108-megapixel main camera (f/1.69 aperture, 0.8um pixel size, Samsung’s sensor, OIS). That’s pretty much as far as camera similarities are concerned.

In addition to a 108-megapixel camera, the Mi 10 also includes a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera, and two 2-megapixel units. One of those is a macro camera, while the other one is a depth sensor. Both include an f/2.4 aperture lens.

The Mi 10 Pro, on the other hand, includes a 20-megapixel ultrawide camera on the back. In addition to that, it has a 12-megapixel camera with portrait lens, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera.

An in-display fingerprint scanner (optical) sits on both phones, as does an infrared sensor. Both devices actually come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, in case you were wondering. It is also worth noting that both phones support 5G connectivity. We’re not sure if 4G only variants will become available or not, but chances are they will.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 comes in Titanium Black, Ice Blue, and Peach Gold color variants. Its pricing starts at 3,999 Yuan ($572) in China. The Mi 10 Pro comes in Starry Blue, and Pearl White colors, and its pricing starts at $716 in China. Both handsets will be announced for global markets on February 23.
