Xiaomi Mi 10 Launching On Feb. 13 In China, Feb. 23 Globally: Official

Xiaomi has officially confirmed launch dates for its new flagship smartphones. The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will become official on February 13 in China, while the company will be launching global variants of the Mi 10 on February 23.

The company will initially announce its flagships during an online-only event. The company announced this via its official Weibo page. Xiaomi decided to do this due to a recent Coronavirus outbreak, no doubt.

Xiaomi usually launches its flagship smartphones during regular events in China, after which global launches follow. Well, while the company will host a regular press conference on February 23, that will not happen on February 13.

Xiaomi will be launching the Mi 10 & Mi 10 Pro globally on February 23

Xiaomi will be launching the Mi 10 series in Barcelona on February 23. That event will take place just a day before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) officially kicks off.

We already have plenty of information when it comes to the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. The company confirmed a while back that the Mi 10 series will be fueled by the Snapdragon 865. The company also indirectly confirmed that we’ll be getting both a regular, and a ‘Pro’ version of the device.

Along with these launch dates, the company also confirmed that the Mi 10 series will pack in UFS 3.0 flash storage. That confirmation came via a separate post on Weibo.

Before the weekend, Micron confirmed that the Mi 10 will be the first smartphone to feature its LPDDR5 module. Both Micron and Samsung will supply LPDDR5 hardware to Xiaomi for the Mi 10 smartphones, by the way.

The two phones will be quite similar in terms of the design

Based on the leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will be quite similar in terms of the design. Both will be made out of metal and glass, and includes really thin bezels. Both will include a display camera hole in the top-left corner.

You can expect both devices to offer curved displays as well, and multiple cameras on the back. The Mi 10 Pro will have one camera sensor more than the Mi 10 on the back, while those cameras will be vertically-aligned.

Android 10 will come pre-installed on both of these phones, along with Xiaomi’s MIUI 10 UI. Both of these phones will pack in plenty of RAM, and will be water and dust resistant. You can also expect to see wireless charging to be included.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro will probably pack in more RAM than the regular model, and the same will probably happen with storage. That handset will also offer faster charging, if rumors are to be believed, 65W wired charging, to be exact.

Both the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are expected to be quite affordable, compared to the competition. We’re just not sure how affordable will they be. Xiaomi will release more information during the launch event in a couple of days, though, so stay tuned.
