An Open-World Naruto MMO Is Coming To Android

Bandai Namco isn’t the only development studio releasing a Naruto game onto Android soon. A new Naruto game is coming to Android in the form of an open-world MMO, called Naruto: Slugfest.

It’ll have fully 3D graphics inspired by Anime visuals just like in some of the PC and console titles. And by the looks of it it’s a game that you will want to try out if you’re a fan of the franchise.

Since it’s an MMO expect to be able to play with hundreds of other players, though not necessarily all at once. Many MMOs implement an instanced system that limits your experience to a much smaller number of players. And that could be the case here.

You can pre-register for the Naruto MMO on Android right now

If you want to be the first to know when this game is available for download, then you’ll want to pre-register.

And you can do so from Google Play right now. Although there is no mention of any sort of pre-registration rewards, they usually exist with a lot of the games that let you pre-register. So there is a pretty good chance there will be something to reward you.

At the very least, pre-registering will allow for a notification to be sent to your device as soon as the game goes live so you can download it right away.

The game will launch sometime this Spring

There’s no set date for release yet but it will be sometime this Spring. Which means it will be soon and likely after the upcoming Naruto x Boruto Ninja Tribes game from Bandai Namco.

It doesn’t look like you will be able to play as Naruto or any of the official characters. At least not entirely. The trailer shows that you create a character from one of four different classes including both melee and ranged types.

The story also follows the Shippuden arcs, so it starts as Naruto comes back to the Leaf Village after years of training with Jiraiya. Combat will be real-time with a fully 3D camera, and you can fight with iconic heroes by your side so it sounds like this is where characters like Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura will come into play.

Naruto: Slugfest will also have both PvE and PvP game types. With large-scale battles and open-field combat. This is going to be a free game so there will be micro transactions. At this time though it’s not clear if these will be minimal or if they will be aggressive enough to make this feel like a pay-to-win game.

At the very least, it might be worth trying out once it launches to see if you should invest a fair amount of time into it. There is a landing page up for the game where you can also pre-register.
