If you’re a Deezer user and you often use the Chromecast streaming feature, you’ll also now be able to sing along with the tracks just like at karaoke.
That’s because the service will now display the lyrics for the song you’re listening to right on the screen if you’re streaming to the Chromecast.
While you could sing along with the song without this, it certainly makes things a whole lot easier to do so. Or maybe you don’t want to sing along with the song. And you’re just curious what the full set of lyrics are.
Lyrics via Chromecast streaming is available to all Deezer users
Deezer has confirmed that this isn’t just a feature that only premium users can access.
It’s available to all Deezer users. Which means you will get to play around with it even you’re on the free plan. You also don’t need to have a physical Chromecast plugged into your TV or monitor.
If you have one with Android TV baked in or an Android TV box of some kind, then the Chromecast technology is basked in too. So you can stream directly to that.
Lyrics are synced and highlighted
To make things even simpler, Deezer designed the lyrics on cast feature to display the lyrics in sync with the song.
So, when you start casting the song to your Chromecast or Chromecast-enabled TV or monitor, the lyrics will pop up at the same time as they do in the song.
They’re also highlighted so it’s as easy to follow along as possible. If you’ve ever been to a karaoke bar, this is exactly how the lyrics work. What’s not made entirely clear is if the lyrics will show up for every single song.
Or if they are only supported on some songs. Since it doesn’t seem to be specifically mentioned, users can probably assume that it’s available on all songs.
Of course if you want to do without the lyrics being in view, you can just cast the song to a speaker instead. Deezer for Cast works with Chromecast-enabled speakers as well.
Deezer is positioning this feature as a perfect feature for parties. So if you have a big group gathering coming up this might be a way to add a little bit of fun and excitement. It can be used solo too of course.
The feature is also available wherever the Chromecast devices are supported.
