The Redmi Note 9 Pro will ship with Android 10 and 6GB of RAM, reports Geekbench. The device surfaced on Geekbench today, following its launch event announcement yesterday.
Redmi confirmed yesterday that the Redmi Note 9 series will launch on March 12. The company also confirmed that those devices will include four cameras on the back, as part of a square camera module.
Well, Geekbench has just added some more details to the table. We did not have any spec info until now, and even though Geekbench did not share much info, at least we know something.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro will come with Android 10, 6GB of RAM, and Snapdragon SoC
In addition to Android 10 and 6GB of RAM, the Redmi Note 9 Pro will also be fueled by a mid-range SoC from Qualcomm. A 64-bit octa-core processor is listed, and it’s closed at 1.8GHz. We’re still not sure what chip is this exactly.
Geekbench also reports that the phone managed to score 569 points in a single-core benchmark. On the flip side, it managed to score 1,755 points in the multi-core benchmark.
These benchmark numbers don’t really mean much in general. Don’t pay much attention to them, especially considering this is just a prototype at this point. Those numbers may be vastly different after the device arrives.
That is pretty much all the information that got shared. It is safe to assume that the Redmi Note 9 Pro will ship with MIUI 11, though. Pretty much every Xiaomi / Redmi phone that ships with Android 10 these days come with MIUI 11.
In addition to the Redmi Note 9 Pro, the Redmi Note 9 will arrive as well. Those are two devices that you can definitely expect on March 12. Redmi may surprise us and announce a third phone as well, we’ll see.
The ‘Pro’ model will be more powerful than the regular variant, of course. It won’t be that much more powerful, though, at least based on what we’ve seen from Redmi in the past.
Both Redmi Note 9 variants will probably be made out of metal and glass
Both the Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro will be made out of metal and glass, most probably. We’re still not sure whether they’ll include a display hole or notch, but one of the two is quite possible.
You can expect to see four cameras on the back side of both phones. The setup on the Redmi Note 9 Pro may be a bit better, though. They probably won’t include the same camera sensors.
Both of those devices are still a mystery, for the most part. More information will probably surface in the coming days, though, so stay tuned for that. The two phones will launch in India on March 12, but they will become available in a number of regions.
