If you’re having trouble finding games to play during your quarantine, the League of Legends auto battler Teamfight Tactics is an option now for your smartphones.
The game has just launched on Android, arriving on the Google Play Store late yesterday evening. While this is based on League of Legends, it’s still an auto battler so don’t expect to have much control over what your characters do.
There will be much less you moving your characters around and a whole lot more of you watching the matches play out. Almost like a spectator. Instead of the fast-paced PvP action of a MOBA, you’ll instead make all your strategical decisions before the match starts.
Riot’s League Of Legends auto battler moves tactical decisions to pre-match deployment
In Teamfight Tactics your main goal is to deploy a team of champions to fight on your behalf.
You’ll select champions from a pool, with each one having a specific set of traits, such as sniper, chrono, brawler, etc. While you don’t actually do anything during the battles, you do interact with the game prior to matches when you make your preparations.
This includes buying more champions as you acquire more gold from previous rounds of the battle, upgrading characters by buying XP, and so on.
You’ll want to do all these things before the next match starts. Because it could mean the difference between you winning and losing.
Take advantage of the tutorial
There is a tutorial available And, it’s actually the default play mode. The first time you boot up the game, you’ll see that it’s selected.
The nice thing is that you can change from tutorial to either of the other two modes if you want to. If you’re very familiar with auto battlers then by all means skip the tutorial mode and move on.
If you’re not, then take advantage of the tutorial mode. It’ll help walk you through the intricacies of the game and how to do things. You’ll learn what’s important, and get a feel for the game.
Even if you have played other auto battlers before, the tutorial mode can still be useful. It’ll at the very least help you become more acquainted with this particular auto battler’s differences.
Teamfight Tactics is completely free to play and has been available on PC for a while now. Just like with League of Legends, there are in-game purchases you can make. So keep that in mind. The game however is completely free and anything you spend real money on should be purely aesthetic.
