T-Mobile announced today, that it is giving all of its customers two months of YouTube Premium for free.
It’s going to be part of its T-Mobile Tuesdays app, so customers will be able to jump into the app tomorrow, March 24 and redeem their two months free.
If you’re a T-Mobile customer, you will need to download the T-Mobile Tuesdays app to be able to claim your free YouTube Premium.
Here’s what you get with YouTube Premium
The big selling point of YouTube Premium is obviously the ad-free experience. And where YouTube has been adding more and more ads to its videos recently, that’s a good thing.
But you do get more than just no ads. YouTube Premium also gives you access to YouTube Music Premium. As well as the ability to have videos and audio playing in the background when you put your phone to sleep. This is particularly good for podcasts that are in video form. And you also get offline playback as well as downloads. This is great for those times that you are traveling and won’t have internet. You can download YouTube videos to watch without a connection.
Normally, YouTube Premium will cost you $11.99 per month. So this is a $24 value here, which is really nice.
Perfect timing, T-Mobile
With all of us home from work and school right now, offering up two months of YouTube Premium for free is really good timing by T-Mobile. Allowing us all to watch lots of videos on its platform without seeing many ads. That’s definitely a good thing here.
Ads can be annoying, and also take up some precious time. And if you are watching a longer video, there can be another ad about every five or ten minutes in the video. Which can be even more annoying. And that’s where YouTube Premium really comes into play and is a really good purchase.
T-Mobile customers can save the promo starting on March 24. You will need to “save” it to your T-Mobile Tuesdays account by April 21. Then you can redeem it on YouTube whenever you want. You’ll have until May 1. Now the important thing to note here is that once the two months are up, you will be charged $11.99 per month. So if you don’t want to be charged, make sure to cancel before the two months are up. Adding a reminder to your calendar is a good way to remember.
