Square Enix has just launched War Of The Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius on Google Play today.
This new game in the Final Fantasy series ties into the Brave Exvius universe but it offers a gameplay style that is a lot like Final Fantasy Tactics: War Of The Lions.
Make no mistake, the two games are not linked in any way. War Of The Visions simply draws plenty of inspiration for the gameplay from War Of The Lions. Right down to the art style for the hand drawn parts, such as the character models during dialogue, as well as the opening scene.
The combat is also similar. And even though the two games are not in a shared world or even tied together by the storyline, the gameplay is similar enough that it might just give you that Final Fantasy Tactics fix.
War Of The Visions is Final Fantasy Tactics on a budget
Final Fantasy Tactics is a great game. And for many it’s the series favorite. It offered a ton of gameplay hours and it was unlike anything in the mainline Final Fantasy series.
The War Of The Lions version of that game is and has been available on Android for a while. It also costs $12. So if you’re not up for spending that kind of money on the game, War Of The Visions will be a nice supplement.
And since it’s free you can have that tactics experience without spending the money. If you don’t already own Final Fantasy Tactics that is.
Fully voiced story quests
Having voice acting in a game can make it feel that much more immersive. It can also make you feel more attached to the characters as you progress though the story.
War Of The Visions has fully voiced story quests with voice actors in Japanese and in English. You get the option to choose which audio packs you want to download alongside the rest of the game data before you start playing.
You can even switch the voice acting between the two from the settings at any point. Once you get through the game’s tutorial of course, which does take a little bit.
Overall the game is a well-made Final Fantasy title. And if you’re a fan of the series this is definitely a good one that is worth your time. While this isn’t a mainline title, it’s still a lot of fun to play and you can’t argue with free when the quality is this good.
