If you’re playing TEPPEN, the card game based on iconic Capcom heroes and villains from across the company’s different franchises, you can now add Zero to the mix.
Zero is of course the famous character from the Mega Man X series, first released on the Super Nintendo more than two decades ago.
Zero joins TEPPEN in the Haunted by Memories expansion
Zero arriving in TEPPEN isn’t the only new content. His inclusion in the game is actually part of the Haunted by Memories expansion that just released.
Aside from Zero, Haunted by Memories brings in a new focal point for the story, centered around the haunted past of the characters within the game. With the expansion players also get access to a wide range of new cards to mix into their decks.
Altogether there are 100 new cards to acquire. And chances are there is at least a few that most players will find enticing. Some of those cards may even be the new Memory ability.
This new ability adds a special bonus to your other playable cards, allowing the player’s abilities to change. There is a catch though.
For the memory ability to activate, the number of action cards played during the match up to that point has to be equal to or greater than the specified number of the memory. So it’s not something you’ll be able to play all the time.
There are three Hero Arts for Zero to become familiar with
Like any of the other heroes in the game Zero has his own Hero Arts. Three of them in fact. And you’ll want to acquaint yourself with these as these are the strongest abilities that you can unleash with Zero when attacking your opponent.
The first one is called Fight Against Inner Demons. With this Hero Art played you can randomly add a maverick or maverick hunter to the EX pocket.
Second there’s Rakuhouha. You’ll want to optimize playing this ability, because the damage dealt hinges on how many memories you have up. You can play the art with a memory count of 3 or less, but it will only deal four damage and it’s split between all enemy units on the board.
If you want until your memory count is maxed out at 10, the damage dealt is increased to 12. Or it’ll do 7 damage if the count is between 4 and 9.
Lastly, Zero’s third Hero Art is called Tenkuuha, which bolsters one friendly unit of your choice by giving a +2 bonus to its attack and combo. Zero is live in the game now as is the new expansion, so you can dive in immediately and check out the new content.
