Nokia 9.3 PureView Flagship Gets Delayed To H2 2020

HMD Global still plans to release the Nokia 9.3 PureView flagship, it seems, but its release got delayed to H2 2020. This information comes from Nokia Power User, and it’s not official, so keep that in mind.

We’re not even sure the phone will be called that. Various rumors arrived regarding its name, including Nokia 9.1 PureView, Nokia 9.2 PureView, and Nokia 9.3 PureView. The latter seems to be the most used one, so we’ll go with that.

The Nokia 9 PureView finally arrived in February 2019, after a series of delays. That phone was supposed to launch in H1 2018, but that didn’t happen. Instead, it launched in February 2019, and it did not come with an updated SoC. It launched with the Snapdragon 845, instead of Snapdragon 855.

That device also didn’t have an amazing camera that Nokia promised from the get-go, it had its issues. Nokia amended most of them via updates, but it was too little, too late for most users.

Nokia hyped up that phone quite a bit, and it did not manage to deliver on everything. The company will be looking to make up with its successor, quite probably.

The Nokia 9.3 PureView got delayed to H2 2020, allegedly

The Nokia 9.3 PureView will be the company’s new flagship, but unfortunately, it got delayed. If the report is to be believed, however, it will launch in H2 this year.

The source claims that the Coronavirus pandemic is to blame this time around. It had a big impact on the supply chain, which made life difficult for HMD Global and many other smartphone OEMs.

The Nokia 9.3 PureView specifications did leak a while back. That information claimed that the phone will have extremely thin bezels, and will be made out of metal and glass.

Android 10 was mentioned, along with 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The Snapdragon 865 SoC was also listed, and the same goes for a 6.2-inch QHD+ pOLED PureDisplay.

The device will support 5G, it seems

The Gorilla Glass 6 was mentioned, and the same goes for an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone will support 5G once it arrives, and if the aforementioned leak is to be believed, it will include 128GB / 256GB of internal storage.

You can expect to see a number of camera sensors on the back, with ZEISS’ optics. A 32-megapixel front-facing camera was listed, along with a ‘display flash’.

A 4,500mAh battery will allegedly be included as well, and the same goes for Qi wireless charging. It will be interesting to see what will Nokia bring this time around.
