The OnePlus 8 series smartphones have managed to earn the highest A+ display rating from DisplayMate. The company said that the OnePlus 8 displays “set or match more than 10 Smartphone Display Performance Records”.

The company added that they set or match such records in “virtually all key categories for the best displays on the market”. Those categories include color accuracy, image contrast, display brightness, and screen reflection.
Four categories are actually marked “Visually Indistinguishable from Perfect”. The OnePlus 8 series follows in the footsteps of the OnePlus 7 Pro, who won a similar rating last year.

Just to be clear, the OnePlus 8 Pro will feature a QHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sensing. If rumors are to be believed, we’ll be getting a 6.78-inch panel here. OnePlus will probably call this display ‘Fluid AMOLED’.
On top of all that, the display will be curved, and it will include motion estimate and motion compensation (MEMC). That should be able to provide smooth video playback and 10-bit color gamut.
It will be interesting to see if the OnePlus 8 Pro display can beat whatever Samsung plans to offer on the Galaxy Note 20 series later this year, as Samsung is usually the winner of such tests.
Both devices will become official on April 14
The OnePlus 8 series managed to get the highest A+ display rating from DisplayMate, but when will it launch? Well, both devices in this flagship smartphone series will arrive on April 14.
The company had confirmed this release date quite recently. The two devices will be announced during an online-only press conference, mainly due to the current health issues that the world is facing.
Both of those smartphones will be fueled by the Snapdragon 865 64-bit octa-core processor. Both devices will include plenty of RAM, and curved display. They will also look really similar, by the way.
The OnePlus 8 Pro will be a bit larger, and include an extra camera on the back, but that’s pretty much it as far as differences are concerned. They’ll both sport a display camera hole in the top-left corner as well.
The ‘Pro’ model is the only one that will have 120Hz refresh rate. It will include a QHD+ display, 30W wireless charging, and IP68 certification. It also may be the only one to offer LPDDR5 RAM, as the regular model is rumored to ship with LPDDR4X RAM.
