If you’re interested in purchasing Red Magic’s new gaming smartphone, you’re in luck. The Red Magic 5G is now available to pre-order globally, starting at $579 / €579.
The Red Magic 5G with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is available to pre-order for $579 in the US. That same device will set you back €579 in Europe, and £539 in the UK.
Do note that the 8GB RAM variant of the device is available in an Eclipse Black color only. The company did mention that the Hot Rod Red variant is coming soon, and will ship with 8GB of RAM as well.
The Red Magic 5G is available to pre-order globally in two variants
There is another variant of the phone, a more expensive variant. The Red Magic 5G with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs $649 in the US. In Europe, it will set you back €649, while in the UK it costs £599.
That variant of the device is available in the ‘Pulse’ color only. The company did not say that any new color options are coming for the top-end model, so keep that in mind.
Pre-order will last until April 21, when open sales are starting. Red Magic also mentioned that each day, 100 customers can buy a voucher worth up to $50 from the RedMagic 5G Blueprint event for only $5.79. This can be used towards the purchase of the Red Magic 5G.
The Red Magic 5G is actually a true powerhouse of a device. This gaming smartphone comes with high-end specs, which is to be expected as it is a gaming smartphone after all.
The device’s design is the first thing that pops out. The phone does not include a display camera notch, or hole. It does have some bezels, but those bezels are quite thin.
The back side of this device is kind of unique. Red Magic is doing its best to differentiate in terms of the design, and it’s working. That vertical strip on the back is kind of unique, as are other details on the back of the phone.
The phone offers 144Hz display, Snapdragon 865, 55W charging & more
The device features a 6.65-inch fullHD+ AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate It is fueled by the Snapdragon 865 SoC, and comes with 8GB / 12GB of RAM, as already mentioned.
The phone includes pressure-sensitive zones (300Hz touch-sensing), and it also comes with a built-in cooling fan. On the back of the phone, Red Magic included an RGB light panel.
Stereo speakers are included, as is a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone also includes three cameras on the back, 64, 8, and 2-megapixel units. A single 8-megapixel camera can be found on the front.
