Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy A51 5G will become official on May 7. The company confirmed the information via its Korean website, though this phone is expected to become available outside of Europe as well.
The A51 5G will follow the Galaxy A71 5G which was announced earlier this month. The Galaxy A71 5G actually launched in the US, so it will be interesting to see if the same will happen with its sibling.
The Galaxy A51 5G will become official on May 7, following its 4G model
Do note that this will not be the initial launch of the Galaxy A51 in general. That device was announced back in December last year, this is only its 5G variant.
Having that in mind, we know pretty much everything about that device at the moment. Do note that there are some spec differences here, though not many. The phone will be made out of metal and glass, and it will include a display camera hole. That hole will be centered at the top of the display.
The device will include a flat display, and almost non-existent bezels. Four cameras will be placed on the back of the phone, in the top-left corner of its back side. Samsung’s logo will also be included back there.
The device will feature a 6.5-inch fullHD+ Super AMOLED display, and we’re guessing a 6GB RAM variant will become available. The device will include 128GB of storage, and you will be able to expand that via a microSD card.
The Exynos 980 will be included inside of this phone
The Exynos 9611 64-bit octa-core processor fuels the 4G variant of this phone. Well, Samsung will upgrade that to the Exynos 980 in the 5G variant of the Galaxy A51 5G.
The battery capacity will be a bit different than on the 4G variant. The 4G variant includes a 4,000mAh battery, while Samsung is planning to utilize a 4,500mAh unit in the Galaxy A51 5G.
There is a good reason for that, 5G. If you’re able to take advantage of 5G connectivity, that extra battery capacity will sure come in handy. 15W fast charging will also be included, and the same goes for an in-display fingerprint scanner (optical).
Android 10 will come pre-installed on the 5G variant of this phone, along with Samsung’s One UI 2.0 Android skin. A 48-megapixel main camera will be included on the back, backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide unit. Two 5-megapixel cameras will also be included, macro and depth cameras.
The phone will become available in Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush Pink, and Prism Crush White color options. There you have it, the Galaxy A51 5G will become official on May 7. Samsung did not share anything regarding this phone’s availability outside of Korea.
