These Xiaomi Smartphones Will Get The MIUI 12 Update

Xiaomi has announced a list of its smartphones that will get the MIUI 12 update. In case you missed it, the company announced MIUI 12 yesterday, a new version of its Android OS / skin.

That being said, the company now shared a timeline for those updates. Do note that the company shared a timeline for its smartphones in China. This timeline does not apply to global variants.

It does, however, confirm which phones will get the update. If a global variant of the listed smartphones exists, it will get MIUI 12 sooner or later. The company did list quite a few devices here.

These Xiaomi smartphones will get the MIUI 12 update

The first batch of devices will start getting stable MIUI 12 in June. Beta builds are already rolling out, they’ve started rolling out yesterday. Having said that, the first Xiaomi smartphones to get the MIUI 12 will be the Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Mi 10 Lite / Young Edition.

Those three devices will get the update in June, along with the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G, Mi 9 Transparent Edition, and Mi 9. The Redmi K30 Pro Zoom, K30 Pro, K30 5G, and K30 will also get it. The same goes for the Redmi K20 Pro Premium, K20 Pro, and K20.

We do not know when will second and third batch get the update, but we do know what devices are included in them. In the second batch, you’ll find the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, Mi MIX 2s, Mi CC9 Pro, Mi CC9, Mi CC9 Meitu Edition, and Mi 9SE. It also includes the Xiaomi Mi 8 UD, Mi 8 Transparent Edition, Mi 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Note 7 Pro, and Note 7.

The third batch includes quite a few devices as well. It includes the Xiaomi Mi CC9E, Mi Note 3, Mi Max 3, Mi 8 Lite, Mi 8 SE, Mi MIX 2, and Mi 6X. The Redmi Note 8 is also included, as is the Redmi 8, 8A, 7, 7A, 6 Pro, 6, 6A, 5, and S2.

As you can see, there are a ton of devices listed here. MIUI 12 is coming to quite a few Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones, and flagship devices will get it first, of course.

Global announcement is coming soon

Xiaomi is expected to announce a global variant of MIUI 12 in the near future. It will mostly be the same as the Chinese one, but without some of its China-specific features.

Xiaomi did boost its Android OS / skin this time around, as MIUI 12 is more refined than its predecessor. It comes with completely revamped navigation gestures, new privacy features, smart dark mode, interesting live wallpapers, revamped animations, and so on.

The company’s navigation gestures are now much more similar to default Android 10 navigation gestures. The company also improved its multi-window mode, and a picture-in-picture feature is here.
