August announced today that the Smart Lock is available for $249 from Best Buy, and from its website.
This is the latest smart lock from August, and boasts a pretty sleek look. It is also about 45% smaller in volume and 20% slimmer than the Smart Lock Pro. And it still is able to offer some advanced features, functionality and security. Which is rather impressive for its size.
August Smart Lock still works with Google Assistant & Amazon Alexa
As expected the August Smart Lock does still work with your favorite smart assistant. This includes Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Allowing you to use your voice to lock and unlock your front door and also check to see whether it is locked or not.
It also works with more than just smart assistants. There is support for Airbnb, Samsung SmartThings, SimpliSafe, Apple HomeKit and much more. So it can work with just about any system that is out there right now.
With the August app, you can unlock and lock your home. As well as give access to others. If you are going to be away and have someone house sitting, you can give them access while you’re gone. This also allows you to see when they have entered and left your home, which can be very useful. You’ll be able to connect the new August Smart Lock with an existing Bridge, which makes setup super simple.

This is a really good smart lock that provides plenty of smarts for your home. To keep you safe and making everything convenient too. If you use your home for Airbnb, this is a really good option. Starting today, the August Smart Lock is available from August’s own website as well as Best Buy.
It will be making its way over to more retailers on May 17. Essentially every retailer that already sells August products, should be selling the August Smart Lock, come May 17.
