Latest Teaser Hints Nokia 8.3 5G Might Go On Sale Very Soon

HMD Global has officially unveiled the Nokia 8.3 5G as its first 5G smartphone in March this year. Regarding availability, the company mentioned it will go on sale in Europe this summer. However, the latest teaser posted on Twitter hints the Nokia 8.3 5G could go on sale very soon.

The Nokia 8.3 5G was unveiled alongside the Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 1.3 smartphones. HMD Global also launched the Nokia 5310 2020 XpressMusic as a revamped version of the classic Nokia 5310.

Speaking of the Nokia 8.3 5G, the company hasn’t revealed any specific details about its availability. Having said that, it is expected to be first launched in Europe.

Nokia 8.3 5G expected to first launch in Europe

There will be two different variants of the Nokia 8.3 5G on sale. The 6GB + 64GB storage variant comes with a price tag of EUR 599, whereas the 8GB + 128GB variant will retail for EUR 649. Also, it comes only in Polar Night color and is said to be inspired by the Northern Lights.

Apart from the missing rear-fingerprint scanner, the rear of the Nokia 8.3 5G looks very much similar to the Nokia 5.3 variant. It actually sports a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded into the power button on the right of the phone.

On the front, it features a 6.81-inch LCD display with Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. It also comes with a high refresh rate of 120Hz.

Nokia promises three years of monthly security updates

The device is powered by the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G Mobile Platform. There is also a MicroSD card slot in this device for further expansion of storage.

It runs on Android 10 out of the box and is part of the Android One family. It will be getting two major Android updates and three years of monthly security patch updates.

Based on the market, the smartphone will come with either a single SIM or dual SIM option. The quad camera setup on the rear houses a 64MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth camera. The hole-punch cutout at the top left corner of the display includes a 24MP selfie camera.

The Nokia 8.3 5G is backed by a 4,500mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging using the USB Type-C port.

It also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack which is missing on several high-end smartphones.

Overall, the device measures 8.99 mm in thickness and weighs a chunky 220 grams. There is even a dedicated hardware button for the Google Assistant.
