The OnePlus 8 has started receiving a new update, OxygenOS 10.5.5. This update further improves the camera experience on the device, while it optimizes several other things.

This update weighs 123MB, and it is already rolling out to consumers. Do note that it is a staged update, so it may take several days to come your way. All devices should receive it within a week, if everything goes according to plan.

This update brings a number of small bug fixes, and improves system stability as a whole. It also improves communication stability specifically.

OxygenOS 10.5.5 brings several camera improvements to the OnePlus 8

Now, in terms of the camera. It improves the front-facing camera on the device. On top of that, the whole camera experience has been improved, as in the stability of it. Both its shooting capability, and the app itself.

OnePlus has also refined the dirt detection capability for the phone’s camera. So if there’s any dirt on the lens that would prevent the phone from taking the best picture possible, the phone will let you know.

That is pretty much everything that OxygenOS 10.5.5 brings to the OnePlus 8. The OnePlus 8 Pro actually received a very similar update, but with a different marking. It is called OxygenOS 10.5.6 in the case of the OnePlus 8 Pro.

Both devices have received quite a few updates thus far, and they launched quite recently. As per usual, OnePlus is trying to further optimize and improve its new devices. The company usually releases quite a few updates post-launch of its smartphones.

The two devices are quite similar in terms of the design

The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are quite similar in terms of the design, but also quite different on the inside. They’re both made out of metal and glass, and include a display camera hole in the top-left corner.

They both offer curved displays, and vertically-aligned cameras on the back. The OnePlus 8 Pro is a bit larger than its sibling, though, and has a number of advantages.

The OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a more powerful camera setup, and it also offers an official IP certification. The device comes with newer and faster RAM, and it also supports 30W wireless charging. The OnePlus 8 does not support wireless charging at all.

The OnePlus 8 Pro is quite a bit more expensive than its sibling, though. Both devices are more expensive than consumers expected, mainly because of 5G.
