New POCO F2 Pro Reports Bring Even More Confusion To The Table

It seems like the POCO F2 Pro may borrow the Redmi K30 Pro’s design after all. This information comes from Google Play’s list of supported devices. That is not all, several new reports bring even more confusion to the POCO F2 Pro table, and the whole naming scheme.

The Redmi K30 Pro and POCO F2 Pro share the same ‘lmi0 code name. It also reveals that the Redmi K30 Pro 5G Zoom Edition will become official under the K30 Pro name in global markets.

These reports bring more confusion to the POCO F2 Pro situation, and are kind of contrary to previous reports

Now, this somewhat complicates things, as POCO’s GM, C Manmohan, earlier said that the POCO F2 Pro won’t be a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro in India. Now, truth be said, he did say “in India”, but everyone assumed that will be the case everywhere.

Well, it’s possible that in Europe, the phone may launch as the POCO F2 Pro, at least based on this Google Play listing. This is still not an official confirmation, though, so we’ll have to wait until the phone arrives.

The thing is, we don’t really know when will the POCO F2 Pro see the light of day. Its predecessor, the POCO F1 aka Pocophone F1, was an immensely popular phone in both India and Europe.

It was called the POCO F1 in India, and Pocophone F1 in Europe. The device offered high-end specs, and an extremely affordable price tag. Around two years have passed since that device landed, so it’s about time we see a successor.

Based on everything we’ve seen thus far, the phone will include the ‘Pro’ name this time around. That’s not all, though. The alleged Pocophone F2 Pro price tag has surfaced in Europe, in Portugal, to be more accurate.

This also suggests that the POCO F2 may be called the Pocophone F2 Pro in Europe. This complicates things, if it’s true, as the POCO F2 Pro and Pocophone F2 Pro may be two different phones. It’s possible these reports are not accurate, though.

The Pocophone F2 Pro may start at €599 in most of Europe

In any case, the Pocophone F2 Pro will be priced at €649 for a model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will allegedly cost €749.

Do note that price tags in Portugal are usually higher than in other parts in Europe due to their ‘private copy tax’. Chances are that the phone will start around €599 elsewhere. That would not be a bad place to start if Pocophone manages to deliver.

That is a considerable price bump over the original, but do note that this phone will include the Snapdragon 865. That processor is bundled in with the Snapdragon X55 modem for 5G connectivity, and sure is not cheap.

Now, if the Pocophone F2 Pro ends up being a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro, will Xiaomi re-release that device as the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro? Well… probably. In any case, these new POCO F2 Pro reports sure do bring more confusion to the table.
