After weeks of leaks and rumours, Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy A21s smartphone. In terms of hardware, it brings major improvements over its predecessor. As seen on many other 2020 Galaxy smartphones, the new Galaxy A21s also comes with a rectangular camera module that is located in the top-left corner.
On the front, the device features a 6.5-inch Infinity-O display with HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The company has opted for a TFT LCD display instead of an expensive AMOLED panel. Even the recently launched Galaxy A21 came with the exact same display.
Samsung Galaxy A21s Full Specifications
It sports a glossy finish polycarbonate body and will be available in Black, White, and Blue colors. An earlier leaked render also showcased the device in red. Under the hood, the Galaxy A21s is powered by an octa-core Exynos chipset clocked at 2.0GHz. It packs 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
The users can also expand the storage up to 512GB using the MicroSD card slot. There is also a physical fingerprint scanner located in the rear. In addition, the device offers a software-based face unlock option.
In terms of optics, the quad camera setup on the rear includes a 48MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture. There are also two 2MP sensors for capturing portrait and macro shots. Compared to the 13MP front camera on the Galaxy A21, the new Galaxy A21s will have a 16MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
Is this a battery monster?
The 5000mAh battery on this device should be good enough to last a full day on a single charge. What’s more, it also supports 15W fast charging using the supplied power adapter. It is 163.6mm tall and 75.3mm wide. At 8.9mm thickness, the Galaxy A21s is relatively slimmer compared to the other smartphones with a 5000mAh battery.
On the software front, the device comes with Android 10-based One UI 2.0 out of the box. It brings dark mode, one-handed navigation, and more. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port.
It will be available to order from June 19th in the UK with a starting price of £179.00. All purchases of Galaxy A smartphones up until December 31st will include six months of Spotify Premium. Samsung hasn’t revealed the availability of the Galaxy A21s in other markets. The Galaxy A series is popular among budget smartphone users. According to the latest report from Strategy Analytics, Samsung Galaxy A51 is the world’s best-selling smartphone in the Q1 2020.
