Walmart has just released a new Android tablet in the budget category for consumers looking to pick one up at a low price.
The new version of the Onn tablet retails for under $100 for the base model. Its exact price is $99, and it comes with an 8-inch display, USB C, and Android 10 for the software. There’s also a slightly higher-priced model which comes with a 10-inch display.
Walmart is offering this version of the hew Onn Pro tablet at $129, and it also comes with USB C and Android 10. Both tablets are also available in Walmart stores and on the Walmart website.
For the price, 10-inch budget Android tablet at Walmart is a better value
When you’re looking to spend about $99 on a tablet, an extra $29 probably isn’t going to be a big deal.
In which case choosing the 10-inch version of the Onn Pro budget Android tablet from Walmart is the better choice. For a little difference in the cost you get things like the bigger screen. The display is also higher resolution.
On the 10-inch model, the display resolution is 1080p. Compared to the 1024 x 600 resolution on the 8-inch model. Other specs see a slight upgrade as well. On the 8-inch Onn Pro you get 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
But on the 10-inch tablet you get a bump to 3GB of RAM. Though the internal storage seems to be the same amount so you don’t get any upgrades there.
10 hours of battery life on a single charge
So you’re alright with the cost of the tablet and the other specs that come with it, but you’re wondering about the battery life.
According to Walmart it should last up to 10 hours for each tablet on a single charge. That’s not groundbreaking, but it isn’t terrible either. Considering that 10 hours is probably around the time you’ll get if you’re using it continuously.
Should you leave the tablet sitting on a desk or coffee table half the day then that time most likely increases. Both tablets also come with a 2GHz processor, 5-megapixel cameras on both the front and back, and some pretty large bezels.
All things considered, these are probably going to be perfect for a large number of average users. They only seem to come in one color, though at the cost Walmart is asking one color option shouldn’t be a huge deal.
The value isn’t in the customization after all, it’s in the savings.
