Wireless Stadia Controller Support Goes Live On The Web This Week

Starting this week Google is finally beginning to roll out wireless support for the Stadia Controller on the web. A feature that until now has only been supported by the Chromecast Ultra.

This expansion of the wireless support does not extend to phones just yet. For the time being users who primarily play on an Android phone will need to continue connecting the two together with a USB cable. Or, use a different wireless gamepad like the DualShock 4.

Now that Google has confirmed wireless support for web players, all that’s left to do is wait for it to go live. Google says that it’s only beginning to push the feature out this week. But that doesn’t mean that everyone will have the availability to use it today. After testing it on the web ourselves it still told us it was coming soon.

Wireless Stadia Controller support for the web is joined by new Pro deals

If you’re a Pro subscriber then new deals have surfaced today alongside the wireless Stadia Controller support for the web.

Namely DOOM Eternal, which can be picked up at a fraction of the normal cost from when it launched back at the end of March. Both the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition are 25-percent off right now.

The former is available for $44.99 while the latter is available for $67.49. DOOM Eternal isn’t the only new game deal either. You can also now purchase GRID for just $12.50, Lost Words: Beyond The Page for $10.04, and Monster Energy Supercross 3 for $35.99.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is available on a new deal too. The Standard Edition is $19.80 while the Ultimate Edition is $39.60. You can also grab the season pass for just $20.

Stadia deals for everyone and more free Pro games

Players shouldn’t forget that there are new Pro games to pick up that landed in the store back on May 1. That was last Friday, so the games have been available to snag for a few days now.

This includes Zombie Army 4: Dead War, SteamWorld Heist, and The Turing Test. You can claim all three Pro games from the app, web, or Chromecast Ultra, or you can click the links from the Stadia blog post to jump right into either game.

Today also brings in a couple of new deals that are available for everyone and not just Pro members. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Standard Edition is available $30 which is half off, and still a pretty good deal.

Of course the Ultimate Edition is $60 which also half off, and if you’re an Assassin’s Creed fan you might want to consider springing for this version as it comes with a lot of extras.
