Adobe announced its Photoshop Camera app way back in November last year. That app hasn’t been available to download / use until now, though. The company has finally listed it on the Play Store.
This is exactly what you think it is, with a twist. Adobe Photoshop Camera app is essentially a third-party camera application for Android. Considering it’s coming from Adobe, though, it has some interesting features packed in.
Adobe Photoshop Camera uses Adobe’s AI platform called ‘Sensei’
First and foremost, the app uses Adobe’s AI (artificial intelligence) platform called ‘Sensei’. It can recognize subjects in photos and recommend you the best filters to use when you take your photos.
This feature was even kind of cool in its preview from back in December, so you can imagine how interesting it is now. Sensei is not all that this app has to offer, though.
This app will basically help you edit your photos, and boost them in many ways. It has 80 custom filters that you can use, and you can even use them in real-time. If that’s not your thing, you can always apply some of them after you take the photo.
Some of those filters are: Portrait, Pop Art, Spectrum, Food, Scenery, Bloom, Studio Light, and more. Real-time Photoshop effects are also included in the package.
Such effects will use AI to edit your photos, while the auto-tune feature can automatically adjust brightness and shadows, auto-masking, and so on.
Even influencer-inspired lenses are available here. Those are custom-designed lenses from various creators, like Billie Eilish, for example. She released a limited edition lens for the app that you can try out.
Do note that you’ll need to log in before you start using this app, though. That is the case with pretty much every app from Adobe, though, so you shouldn’t be too surprised.
This app’s UI layout is not bad at all
The layout of this app’s UI is also well organized. It’s not the best I’ve seen, that’s for sure, but it could be a lot worse. All in all, this does seem to be a rather powerful application.
Adobe Photoshop Camera is free to download and use. Do note that we were unable to install it on the Huawei P30 Pro for some reason, despite the fact that handset has full support for Google apps and services.
The app was shown as incompatible on the Play Store. It installed just fine on the OnePlus 7 Pro, though. That is a bit odd, but there you go. If you’re interested, the download link is included below.
