Android 11 Beta has just landed on more devices, the OPPO Find X2 and Find X2 Pro. OPPO promised that the update is coming soon, when Google announced Android 11 Beta, and that was quite recently.
Well, the update is now available. The OPPO Find X2 and Find X2 Pro just became one of the first non-Google devices to get this update.
This update will arrive to your device OTA (Over-the-Air), but only if you’ve enrolled in the beta program. Those of you who have not, can always manually download it from OPPO’s website.
Android 11 Beta for OPPO Find X2 series comes with ColorOS 7.2
Before you proceed, though, there are some things you should know. This beta software is still based on OPPO’s ColorOS 7.2, so it’s not the same as the experience you’ll get on Google’s Pixel phones.
Make sure to backup your data before proceeding. This update should not delete your data when you install it, but you’ll lose everything once you revert back to a stable build.
We don’t have the full details when it comes to features available in this build. You should see plenty of Android 11 Beta features included, features that Google talked about… if not all of them.
We do know that the new notification shade options are included, and the same goes for the floating Bubbles UI. You will see a dedicated conversation section in the notification shade in this build.
Android 11 Beta prioritizes conversation notifications
Android 11 Beta basically prioritizes conversations over regular notifications, and that’s a feature that users have been requesting for a long time.
The floating Bubbles are essentially Facebook’s Chat Heads, but made by Google for all apps. Developers do need to enable APIs for Bubbles, though, so not everything works just yet.
Do note that installing Android 11 Beta on the OPPO Find X2 and Find X2 Pro is not as easy as installing software on some other phones. You cannot simply download the package and install it from the file manager.
You’ll need to download it, and then flash it using the phone’s recovery mode, basically. That is not that difficult if you follow instructions carefully, though. Just keep in mind you’ll lose data once you decide to go back to a stable build of ColorOS.
