Xiaomi’s executive has announced that Android 11 Beta is coming to the Xiaomi Mi 10 series as well. Both the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will get a build of Google’s latest beta software.
This information comes from Manu Kumar Jain, the company’s Global VP and Managing Director over at Xiaomi India. He shared the news via Twitter.
This means that it will join Google’s very own Pixel phones, the OPPO Find X2 series devices, and the OnePlus 8 series. The OnePlus 8 series already received this build, by the way, as did Google’s devices, of course.
Android 11 Beta will reach the Xiaomi Mi 10 series “soon”.
Manu Kumar Jain did not say when exactly will Android 11 Beta come to the Xiaomi Mi 10 series, but he did say “soon”. So, we’re hoping this to become available in a week or two, but we’ll see.
Google announced Android 11 Beta build two days ago. That build seems to be quite stable, even though some things still don’t work in it. If you’re planning to install it on a device that you use as a daily driver, think twice before you do it.
Chances are Google Pay won’t work on it, and it may break some other functionality as well. OnePlus even released a list of things that do not work in it, but something similar may apply to other brands.
Android 11 Beta is a great way to try out what’s coming in a stable build of Android 11. It’s not really daily driver material, though. That’s something’s I’d say for every beta build, though, no matter how stable it is.
Android 11 Beta did bring quite a few changes compared to a previous build. This release is close to being stable, and at this point, we probably know almost all features that are coming.
This build brought a new tab in the notification tray, it’s called ‘Conversations’. So, if you received a message from someone, that section will be separated from the rest of your notifications. It makes sense, as chances are it’s more important.
Bubbles are fully functional in Android 11 Beta
Bubbles are now fully functional, though developers need to enable the Bubbles API in order for it to work for their apps. When Android 11 Beta launched, only Messenger worked properly.
The recents page looks a bit different in Android 11 Beta. The Google Search widget is no longer there, and the same goes for recommended apps. Those have been replaced by Screenshot, Select, and Share options.
A new screenshot interface is also here, while a screen recorder is finally built-in. These are only some of the changes.
