Galaxy Fold Can Now Record 60fps 4K Video With Its Selfie Camera

The Samsung Galaxy Fold began receiving a new update which brings 60fps 4K video recording to its selfie camera. This update also brings the latest Android security patches to the table, for June 2020.

The update is now rolling out to unlocked international models of the Galaxy Fold. Those units are marked as ‘SM-F900F’, with a build number ‘F900FXXS3BTE1’.

This update enables 60fps 4K video recording for the Galaxy Fold selfie camera

The aforementioned changes are not the only changes this update brings. The changelog mentions some other changes. This update seems to bring some updates to AR Emoji, which include a manual editing tool and improved recognition for facial expressions.

New camera features and filters are mentioned as well. AR Zone, Single Take, Pro video, My Filters, Selfie Tone, and Night Timelapse have been added as well.

As already mentioned, the update is rolling out as we speak, but you may not get it straight away. This is a gradual update, as is the case with Android software updates.

If the update doesn’t get pulled in the meantime, you should get it within a week, presuming you have the right version of the phone, of course.

You can always manually check if the update is available, just in case that option is turned off on your phone. All you need to do is head to ‘Settings’, and then navigate to ‘Software update’. There you’ll see the ‘Download and install’ option.

While the Galaxy Fold did just receive a 60fps 4K video recording option for its selfie camera, along with other changes, many people are already looking towards the Galaxy Fold 2.

The Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to launch in August

That handset is expected to arrive in August, if rumors are accurate. The device is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Note 20 series of devices.

Reports are claiming that Samsung will host an online-only event in order to announce those devices. We still do not know when exactly will it take place, though.

The original Galaxy Fold was announced alongside the Galaxy S10 series last year. Some people expected the Galaxy Fold 2 to arrive with the Galaxy S20, but that did not happen.

Samsung did announce a foldable device alongside the Galaxy S20 series, though, the Galaxy Z Flip. So, there’s a really high chance that the Galaxy Fold 2 will launch in August, with the ‘Note’ phones. It will also bring a number of improvements over its predecessor.
