Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy Tab S7 lineup in the coming months. A lot about the two upcoming Android tablets is already known, thanks to various leaks and rumors. Now, ahead of their impending launch, a couple of accessories for the tablets have received necessary certifications.
Firstly, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has certified the S Pen that’d come along with the Galaxy Tab S7 duo. The FCC listing doesn’t reveal the design or features of the stylus pen but does offer some details on its specs.
The S Pen, which bears the model number EJ-PT870, will operate within the frequency range of 2402MHz to 2480MHz and will feature 40 channels. The listing also reveals the S Pen’s modulation technique, power source, antenna specification, and operation temperature.
Additionally, South Korea’s NRRA (National Radio Research Agency) has also certified the book cover keyboards for the Galaxy Tab S7 and the Galaxy Tab S7+. This certification also doesn’t reveal any details about the keyboards, except for their model numbers. The EF-DT870 is for the vanilla Tab S7 while the EF-DT970 is for the ‘Plus’ model.
We already know that Samsung is working on at least five different Tab S7 variants. The standard model has a Wi-Fi-only (SM-T870) and an LTE (SM-T875) variant. The bigger, S7 Plus, meanwhile, has a Wi-Fi-only (SM-T970), an LTE (SM-T975), and a 5G (SM-T976B) variant.
The Galaxy Tab S7+ 5G is expected to be the first globally available 5G tablet from Samsung. The Tab S6 5G last year was limited to the company’s home market only.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 rumored specifications
Samsung’s upcoming flagship tablets will be available in two screen sizes- the standard model with an 11-inch display and the ‘Plus’ model with a 12.4-inch display. Rumors have it that they’ll feature AMOLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Galaxy Tab S7+ 5G (SM-T976B) will run on the Snapdragon 865 processor with at least 6GB of RAM. The processor details of the other Tab S7 variants are not clear as of yet.
The Tab S7+ also gets a huge 9,800 mAh battery. The battery capacity of the vanilla Tab S7 is rumored at 7,760mAh, which is still higher than the battery capacity of the Galaxy Tab S6, which utilized a 7,040mAh module. Both the tablets will run Android 10 from day one, possibly with One UI 2.5 on top.
Samsung could launch the Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7+ alongside the Galaxy Note 20 series sometime in August. The event should also see the arrival of the Galaxy Fold 2 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.
