Meet The Upcoming Samsung Galaxy A01 Core

The Samsung Galaxy A01 Core will become official soon, and the phone’s design has just been revealed. If you take a look at the provided renders above, you’ll get to see the upcoming Galaxy A01 Core.

This image has been shared by Evan Blass aka @evleaks via his Patreon page. You can see that two variants of the device are shown here, Blue and Red models. It’s possible Samsung will use some fancy terminology for those color options.

The upcoming Galaxy A01 Core will not feature a display notch or hole

As you can see, the phone does not have a display hole or notch. It does have some bezel above and below the display, though. Those bezels are not that thick, so chances are it won’t bother many people.

A single camera is placed on the back, along with an LED flash. It seems like this phone will be made out of polycarbonate (plastic), and it will be quite compact. Its physical keys are positioned quite high on the right side, which suggests a smaller form factor.

The Samsung Galaxy A01 Core got certified by Bluetooth SIG quite recently, which confirmed that it will support Bluetooth 5.0. It also appeared on the Google Play Console.

That listing revealed that the device will feature an HD display, and 1GB of RAM. So this will be an extremely affordable smartphone, there’s no doubt about it.

Its processor is also known at this point, it will be fueled by the MediaTek MT6739WW, which is not exactly a powerful chip. That same chip fueled the Nokia 1 Plus a while back.

Android 10 Go Edition will probably come pre-installed on the device

Android 10 will come pre-installed on the Galaxy A01 Core, though it will probably be Android Go, not regular Android. We’re only guessing, as this phone’s specs are not exactly powerful enough for anything else.

The phone also appeared on the Wi-Fi Alliance under two different model numbers. It popped up as the ‘SM-A013F’ and ‘SM-A013F_DS’. The latter is the dual SIM model, so it seems like both single and dual SIM variants will become available.

This suggests that the phone will launch in several different markets, which was to be expected. The phone will support Wi-Fi 802-11 b/g/n.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A01 Core is definitely aimed at emerging markets. Samsung will be really careful as to where to offer this smartphone, as in some markets it wouldn’t get much attention.

We still don’t know how much will it cost, but it will be extremely affordable. This is the very basic smartphone Samsung could have released at this point, or at least close to it.
