Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Flagship Bags NFC Certification

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 got its NFC certification. It has been certified by the NFC Forum, well, two models have been certified. Those models are the SM-981U and SM-986U

The SM-981U is the regular Galaxy Note 20, while the SM-986U is probably the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra got certified on Bluetooth SIG under that model number, so… it’s probably not the ‘+’ variant.

The Galaxy Note 20 NFC Forum certification did not share much info about the devices

The Galaxy Note 20 NFC Forum certification does not really share all that much information. We don’t get the images of the devices, nor their specifications, unfortunately.

The SM-986U did surface on Geekbench back in April, though. That listing revealed that the phone will ship with Android 10 out of the box. It also confirmed that it will include 8GB of RAM, and be fueled by what seems to be the Snapdragon 865+.

The device was also put through the HTML5 test recently, and that confirmed it will feature a 19.3:9 display aspect ratio. That display will feature 3096 x 1444 resolution, and it will also offer a 120Hz refresh rate.

Samsung is expected to release three Galaxy Note 20-branded phones this year. The Galaxy Note 20, Note 20+, and Note 20 Ultra. The regular model will be inferior to the other two models, by quite a margin, according to rumors.

The device will not only offer a 60Hz fullHD+ display, but a number of other aspects will be inferior to the other two models. The Galaxy Note 20+ and Note 20 Ultra are both rumored to include 120Hz displays with QHD+ resolution.

If Samsung ends up utilizing a 60Hz display on a 2020 flagship, that will cause some uproar in the tech community. The company should at least go for a 90Hz display at this point in time.

Samsung will probably announce these handsets on August 5

All three of those phones are expected to arrive in August. Samsung is rumored to launch all three of them on August 5, though nothing has been confirmed just yet.

Those are not the only devices that will arrive during that Unpacked event, though. Samsung is also expected to announce the Galaxy Fold 2, and Galaxy Z Flip 5G.

So, the company will essentially announce five flagship devices at the same time. That will happen for the first time in history when this Korean company is considered.

All three Galaxy Note 20 handsets will be fueled by either the Snapdragon 865+ or Exynos 990 / 992, according to rumors. The Snapdragon 865+ will be utilized in the US and China, while the Exynos chip will be included in Europe and India.
