The OnePlus 8 series will keep getting camera updates which are aiming to bring improvements to the table. The company vowed to improve the camera in a number of ways during the last Open Ears Forum.
The company was forced to host this Open Ears Forum online, due to the current health crisis around the world. If not for that, it would have been hosted offline, in a chosen city.
The OnePlus 8 series will keep getting updates with various camera improvements
OnePlus promised to bring camera improvements to the OnePlus 8 series in a number of ways. It said that it will keep improving white balance consistency across all lenses.
On top of that, the haloing seen on some HDR portrait shots will also be addressed. OnePlus is aiming to improve UX for AE lock as well, which will make some people really happy.
More color filters are also coming. OnePlus is also planning to bring color filters to portrait mode. At the moment, the color filter camera is disabled by an accidental update on the OnePlus 8 Pro.
That will be amended soon, as the company is addressing the side-effect of that camera. It can see through plastic and some other materials, which presents a security issue. So OnePlus is addressing the issue now.
The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will also get a camera update that will show you a visual cue when a tripod mode is activated. The last change that the company promised is to keep optimizing post-processing.
The OnePlus 8 Pro is actually a great camera smartphone
The OnePlus 8 Pro actually delivered in the camera department, big time. The company’s new flagship has been praised for its image and video-taking capabilities.
We’ve done the same, as the improvement is more than noticeable. The OnePlus 8, on the other hand, has a good camera setup, but its results are closer to the company’s last year’s flagships, than the OnePlus 8 Pro.
It seems like OnePlus plans to keep improving that handset’s cameras as well, which are great news. The OnePlus 8’s camera setup did improve since the launch, via several updates, and that will keep on happening, it seems.
Both of these phones were announced back in April. They have been on sale for a while now, and will keep on getting updates for a long time. They will remain the company’s priority when it comes to updates until the OnePlus 8T series comes later this year.
Still, OnePlus is doing a great job when it comes to updating its phones. Its 2017 flagships received Android 10 quite recently, the OnePlus 5 and 5T.
