There is now a new picture of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, ahead of its unveiling in a couple of weeks. And this one looks like it is going to be a teaser image used on Samsung’s website or other marketing material.
The image isn’t that clear, in fact it’s pretty blurry. But you can get the gist of it here.
It shows the design of the new Galaxy Z Fold 2, which appears to be coming in a bronze color – Samsung will likely make up a fancy name for the color though. Similar to the Galaxy Note 20 series.
This picture shows a larger internal and external display on the Galaxy Z Fold 2
In this image, you can see that there is a larger external display, so instead of having those huge bezels on the top and bottom of the display like the Galaxy Fold had. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be close to bezel-less on the outside and on the inside.
There is still a decent bezel on the internal display, which is likely needed to protect the display. So don’t expect those bezels to go away anytime soon. But the camera module is likely smaller too. Remember with the original Galaxy Fold, there were two cameras on the right corner that took up a decent amount of space.
The bad part about this render, is that it shows a decently large camera bump. Now, the original Galaxy Fold did have a camera bump, but it was pretty thin, and almost not noticeable. This one is definitely noticeable. But that might also mean that the cameras have gotten a serious upgrade.
It’ll likely be teased at Unpacked
While some rumors lately have hinted at Samsung not actually formally announcing the Galaxy Z Fold 2 at Unpacked on August 5, it will likely be teased.
Some don’t think it’ll be formally announced then, because the phone won’t be going on sale for a little while. It’s looking like an October launch. But remember, the Galaxy Fold was announced in February of last year, at Unpacked, and was set to go on sale in late April – before all of the issues started plaguing the device.
So it’s still likely that it’ll make an appearance at Unpacked. But we likely won’t be able to buy it for a little while. It’s unfortunate, but it does give everyone more time to save up their money before purchasing the Galaxy Z Fold 2. While it is expected to be cheaper than the Galaxy Fold, don’t expect it to be much cheaper.
